How we use AI.

The Foundation uses AI wherever doing the work by hand would cost more than a non-profit our size can afford. AI helps us gather surveillance data from around the world, keep our research library current, and translate every finding, far faster than we could alone. Day to day it keeps the team organised by summarising what each of us has added.

We do not spend AI tokens where they are useless, because we know that compute costs water. We keep ecology in mind in everything we do.

We put our resources into two things: telling the public the truth, and opening up all our research. Then epidemiologists, entomologists and environmental ethicists can work the problem together, in the open.

We pull real-time vector data, so an outbreak can be seen earlier. We aggregate mosquito research in over 38 languages. We route long-lasting nets, funded by donations and sales, to the households most exposed. Our goal is to make durable, effective protection against mosquitoes something ordinary people can reach.

Our AIs let us work together like never before. They help us understand each other across languages, on research that once needed a shared one. Opening that research to every language is an idealistic goal, and we took it on because AI puts it within reach. That is exactly why we will not hide our use of AI.

AI does not get the last word. People set the direction, check the facts, and stay accountable for everything we publish. Figures, findings, and health guidance come from named sources, never invented by a model. Those sources are censuses, statistical databases, peer-reviewed research, and public authorities such as the WHO and Europe's disease-control agencies, cited where we use them.

This is our promise: we are built by humans, for humans, to protect humans.
